The paid portion of the state park is really small but it’s really cool. They have a couple houses you can go in and a really cool “power shovel” (shown in pic). The power shovel is actually out of the paid portion of the park. I recommend for seniors bc it’s rly small but all ages can go here. There are events sometimes held on the field that could be cool too.

I enjoyed my visit to the Park. The Park Ranger was very informative in describing the Fort's History. The Museum-Visitor Center had many exhibits on display detailing the history. The Officers Row houses were also open and were decorated for the holidays.

Great experience. 1st visit to a cavalry fort. The rangers in the visitor center were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and great at engaging visitors in conversation.

If you’re into History and this type of stuff it’s pretty good. Nothing fancy like a lot of other museums. No high tech displays, but you can link to videos when walking through the old military houses. Interesting to learn about the Indian guides and Buffalo Soldiers. Restrooms are a long walk.

Well worth adding to the list of places to visit during a trip to Sedona. Located in Camp Verde, this place captures history of the area and provides a deep dive into what it was like living in the West over a century ago. Gives insight to the purpose of the Fort and its significance during the time period it was established. Each building gives a glimpse into the past. Everything well maintained. The rangers are very knowledgeable about the history. Be sure to spend time watching the videos and reading the placards all throughout the properties.

You know a state park is enjoyable when both kids said they would love to go back. We all enjoyed the lengthy museum followed by a walk around the grounds which included the officer quarters, jail and many more historic buildings. The rangers here love their job and made sure we had a great time.

Very well maintained and preserved historical site. It's a small state park with lots of historical significance. The buildings are very nice and you can enter to see how these military members lived with their families. Just about all of the pieces used in the buildings appear to be of that era (late 1800's). It was a nice 73° when I visited the location. Sitting on one of the benches at the surgeon's house was a nice way to just enjoy the parade deck view with its ship mast flying the nation's colors. Enjoy your visit to this historic site. Be safe everyone.

I think it looks really good considering it was built in 1871 to 1891 operations for the fort but it's made of adobe so it's kind of hard to tear down and reuse or to burn down great place to visit $7 to go through the museum and then across the street there are three buildings open you can walk through I would recommend it, this Saturday is the last Victorian Christmas Evening event December 16, 2023
